About Us

In 2006, The Pride Committee of NC, the organizers of the largest LGBTQ festival and parade in NC and the surrounding states decided to create a GLBT NC Travel page on it’s main website: www. ncpride.org

Its purpose was to unite the regions of NC and reach out to the many LGBTQ visitors that come to our wonderful state each year.  After two years of monitoring, we became pleasantly aware that the travel pages were being visited in high volume all during the year.

We decided to add a new website to our current web outreach (www.ncpride.org and www.trianglelocalevents.com) and thus www.ncgaytravel.com was born.

Please join us in our purpose of uniting the diverse communities in our great state and also in extending a warm “Mayberry hello” to the many people who choose to visit the attractions and warm-hearted people of “the old north state”.

The Annual NC Pride Parade & Festival

Spanning the two major North Carolina cities of Durham and Raleigh, our annual NC PrideFest Celebration is the largest gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered event in North Carolina and the surrounding states.  This year, we anticipate more than 10,000 marchers and participants with hundreds more spectators.  The 3-day festival will take place on Duke East Campus, Durham, Chapel Hill and in Raleigh. It will include a parade, day festival, night festival, conferences, staged events and dances.

Forty seven percent of those attending are from the Triangle.  The remaining fifty three percent come from across North Carolina and adjoining states, including South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and Maryland. 55% of our festival attendees are 30–50 years old with annual incomes of $45,000 or more.  45% are 18 – 30 years old and attending a major university.  We have over 18 different college groups represented in the festival and parade including groups from Duke University, University of NC, NC State and ten other colleges.

The Benefits of Sponsorship

According to the National Strub Media Group survey of income and loyalty, the LGBT consumer is extremely brand loyal and has above average income.  Given products of comparable quality, 87% of LGBT consumers indicated they would buy products and services marketed to the LGBT community.  We reach approximately 250,000 identified LGBT consumers with our email and Internet presence.  We also receive local and regional newsprint and television coverage.  As a sponsor, you have an opportunity to share this coverage and also capture this niche market.  Sponsorship can be in the form of cash, services, or a combination of both.

Sponsors with websites will be linked to from our high-traffic sites.  Because of modern search engine algorithms, this increases the search ranking of your website on sites like google and yahoo and provides visitors with a direct link to your page from ours.
